Color the County Mural Program Winning Artist and Community Painting Day Announced
The winner of the Johnson County Community Foundation’s (JCCF) 2020 Color the County Mural Program design contest and the 2020 Community Painting Days were announced.
Stacie Drane’s mural design was chosen for the mural location at 89 S. Baldwin Street, Taxman Brewery Co., Bargersville, IN. The mural design was inspired by our community of both rural towns and larger cities and a love for all the people who live there. Stacie hopes that her design inspires feelings of compassion, unity and hope. Showcasing that no matter who we are, where we live or what we do, we can find color and brightness in the darkest of times. Stacie lives in Nineveh with her husband and two daughters.
JCCF invites residents of all ages to help bring the murals to life this summer at the following Community Painting Days. Painting supplies and refreshments will be provided.
Date: Saturday, August 8, from 9 a.m. to Noon.
Location: 89 South Baldwin Street, Taxman Brewing Co., Bargersville
JCCF established the Color the County Mural Program in 2016 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Color the County joined the community and artists through the collaborative process of mural-making to create three powerful artworks in Johnson County. JCCF continued to support arts and culture in Johnson County through the county-wide mural program.
