Franciscan Health hosts safeTALK: Half-Day Training in Suicide Alertness on March 27 in Greenwood
Franciscan Health will host safeTALK: a free, half-day training in suicide alertness on Thursday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Franciscan Education Center in Greenwood.
The course will help attendees recognize a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with resources who can help them in choosing to live. Participants do not need any formal preparation to attend the training and anyone age 15 or older can learn to apply the safeTALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe.
Participants will also learn to notice and respond to situations where thoughts of suicide may be present and recognize often overlooked invitations for help.
In addition, attendees will learn to move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss and avoid signs that indicate suicide.
Registration is required. To register, call (317) 528-6609 or email Tina.Hoffmann@FranciscanAlliance.org.
The Franciscan Education Center is located at 421 North Emerson Avenue in Greenwood.
