Franklin College Announces #Griztuesday, An Initiative Supporting Grizzly Athletics
Franklin College will host an online fundraiser titled #GRIZTuesday on Tuesday, Dec.3, with all donations supporting its athletic programs.
Nora Brems, vice president for institutional advancement, noted that for the fifth consecutive year the college will participate in the global day of charitable giving know as Giving Tuesday. “Five years ago, we intentionally rebranded the day as #GRIZTuesday, dedicating all funds raised during this 24-hour event to support our athletic programs.”
“This is our most significant day of the year to rally support for our athletic programs and the dedicated student-athletes who represent Franklin College at the highest levels in every arena—from the court and track to the field and pool,” said Franklin College Vice President Andrew A. Hendricks. “The support we receive directly impacts each athlete by providing essential equipment, uniforms and other critical resources to ensure they have the experience they deserve, while also enhancing our programs to create opportunities for future Grizzlies.”
The college is planning to use social media, especially Facebook, X and Instagram, to market the 24-hour fundraising effort, as well as email and other college-owned communication channels.
The website link for giving will be released on the college’s social media platforms beginning at 12:01 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Donors may direct their gift to their favorite team or the general athletic fund. The giving website will display a real-time running tally of the number of donors and dollars raised for each team, as well as an overall total.
