Meet Your Ambassador: Andy Cooper, Metronet

By Aspire Economic Development + Chamber Alliance | | 6.18.24

Meet Aspire Ambassador Andy Cooper with Metronet Business. Andy has been an ambassador for two years. Here are some things to know about Andy:

  1. As an Ambassador of two years, how has it been beneficial to you and your business?

I am not the most outgoing person when it comes to large groups so being an Ambassador has given me the opportunity to meet other members through interacting during check-in, onboarding, and small group breakouts.

  2. What excites you about being an Ambassador?

Having the opportunity to learn about the many businesses and non-profit organizations that are part of Johnson County.

  3. Can you remember a favorite moment during your time as an Ambassador that sticks with you?

During the Tidings and Tinsel event in 2022, I ended up helping a member’s wife get a job at Ivy Tech teaching nursing students where my wife works. You never know what can come of conversations!

  4. What advice do you have for professionals trying to connect with other professionals.

Get involved. Whether it’s volunteering for any of the many non-profit organizations, becoming an Ambassador, or just finding other professionals with common goals during networking events.

  5. Do you have any good networking tricks or habits that have worked for you when you are networking?

Just have conversations and consistently show up. I’ve seen too many people show up one or two times, push for immediate results, and quit coming because they weren’t getting immediate leads.

  6. What is your favorite color?

    Red

  7. Tell us something you love to do as a hobby or a favorite vacation spot.

I really like building things whether it’s furniture, remodeling, or building a deck.

  8. What is your favorite thing about Aspire?

My favorite thing about Aspire is all the options that are available for how you use your membership. In addition to the networking opportunities, there are opportunities to learn industry best practices, keep up with policies that effect businesses, and stay informed of local events.

Thank you so much, Andy, for caring for your fellow members and their development with Aspire.
