Meet Aspire Ambassador Micheal Zafiroff with Reis-Nichols Jewelers. Micheal has been an Aspire Ambassador for a little over 1 year.

  1. As an ambassador of 1 year, how has it been beneficial to you and your business?

I’m a huge believer in the idea that what you get out of something is proportional to what you put in and being an Ambassador for Aspire has been no exception. The amount of connection and welcoming of such a broad diversity of businesses throughout Johnson County is a powerhouse of networking, camaraderie, and support.

  2. What excites you about being an ambassador?

I’m so excited about the overall attitude from our member businesses and the universal desire to see each other succeed. I’m excited to be part of that and in a position to facilitate connections.

  3. Can you remember a favorite moment during your time as an Ambassador that sticks with you?

My favorite moment thus far was when I went to another ambassador to ask about a potential candidate for our open administrative position and when she told me it was probably a no-go on that candidate, she mentioned her daughter as an option who were able to onboard and has quickly become a valued member of our team.

  4. What advice do you have for professionals trying to connect with other professionals?

Step one to networking is showing up. Put yourself out there and meet everyone without the agenda to sell them something. The best network connections are always the ones that you never expected to need.

  5. Do you have any good networking tricks or habits that have worked for you when you are networking?

My best tip is to have 3 quick statements about yourself ready to go: What are you working on professionally, what are you working on personally, and what are you working on for the community.

  6. What is your favorite color?

I think it has to be green, doesn’t it?

  7. Tell us something you love to do as a hobby or a favorite vacation spot.

My woodshop is my oasis. I love building stuff, making stuff, and solving problems with a bit of sawdust.

  8. What is your favorite thing about Aspire?

My favorite thing about Aspire is the same thing that makes the difference in any business going from great to exceptional… the people. All the Aspire staff, ambassadors, and business professionals from our member businesses are all incredible and approach the business community at-large with such a giving heart.

Thank you and the entire Aspire staff for curating such an incredible platform and support for businesses in Johnson County and for allowing me to be a small part of the development of our county to make it a better place to live, work, learn, shop, eat, and invest in.
