AccuPay was established in 1994 to provide more personalized, expert, local payroll/tax/HR services to Central Indiana employers. Owner Larry Shaub, a long-time Greenwood CPA, identified that many of the small-to-medium-sized businesses/non-profits he worked with were not pleased with their services from the large, national payroll/HR companies. Clients were often frustrated with errors, poor response times, and didn’t like talking to different people all the time. AccuPay was formed for the express purpose of providing a boutique level of expertise and customer service to local employers, and today works with over 1,100 employers---- all of whom have a designated, professional Payroll/HR Specialist. (Most have a professional certification in payroll, HR, and/or Quickbooks.) The majority of our 5-star Google reviews from clients praise their payroll specialist as "going the extra mile" for them.
Technology now plays a bigger part in AccuPay's service excellence than in our early years, but we view technology/software as simply a "tool" to be used by an expert "person" in providing client service excellence. Our payroll/HR/timekeeping system partners are isolved HCM and UKG/Kronos, with MasterTax used for excellence in managing all aspects of payroll taxes. (Accupay has clients operating in over 40 states.) Utilizing these software tools, many clients rely on AccuPay’s team of experts for workforce management functions such as payroll, onboarding, performance reviews, PTO accruals tracking, ACA reporting, time and attendance, benefits integration with 401k plans, etc. We also help clients "map out" exports of payroll transactions from payroll to each client's unique general ledger chart of accounts, and provide robust reporting options/tools as well.
We continue to believe that providing payroll/tax/HR services in a similar manner as a local, reputable CPA firm is the best way to provide exceptional services to our employer-clients---and our annual client retention rate of 98-99% and Google rating of 4.9 stars validates that we are performing consistent with our goals. AccuPay has never had a single year in which our gross revenues have declined, even during the pandemic. We learn new things every single day we operate!
