Nadine P. Melind, a 1981 Franklin College graduate, was recently elected as the alumni council representative on the board of trustees at her alma mater. Melind will engage with the board in establishing policy and guiding strategic efforts to ensure a prosperous future for the institution.

Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather said, “Nadine brings valuable industry expertise and alumni perspective to the board of trustees. Her career at Rolls-Royce Corporation, where she demonstrated strategic vision and dedication to growth and innovation, aligns with our commitment to preparing students for impactful careers and meaningful lives.”

Melind is a consultant in the aerospace industry and a retired executive from Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, where she worked for more than two decades. Her career there included a steady progression through key leadership roles, from business development manager to customer executive, then from director of business development to services strategy executive, ultimately advancing her to director of service growth and solution design. She has also held executive positions with BVS Sight and Boomerang Ventures.

Since 2019, Melind has served on the Franklin College Alumni Council. As Council President, she will serve as the organization’s liaison to the board of trustees, fostering a strong connection between the college and its alumni community.

“Serving on the Alumni Council is a great honor and has given me wonderful opportunities to connect with alumni across several generations and to see their accomplishments and learn how Franklin prepared them and shaped their futures. Our alumni are doing great things in their communities and workplaces,” Melind said.

Melind is excited about the new opportunities for engagement that her trustee role will bring. “Franklin College has been incredibly meaningful to me and many others, and I’m committed to supporting its tradition of educating future leaders across all fields,” she shared. “I want to help ensure that future students experience the lifelong learning and personal, intellectual and professional growth that a Franklin College education provides. I also hope to contribute to the college’s financial stability, core academic rigor and strong leadership so that Franklin College continues to thrive for another 190 years.”
