Recycling Saturday Document Shredding and Household Chemical Disposal is set for April 5, 2025
The Johnson County Recycling District and Shares, Inc. are hosting a document shredding event on Saturday, April 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at the Recycling Center, 900 Arvin Rd., Suite A, in Franklin. This event is free and open to all Johnson County residents and businesses.
Documents will be collected in locked containers and shredded off-site at Shares, Inc. in Shelbyville, IN. If you are bringing large quantities of paper to be shredded, the paper should be in a container that can be left behind (boxes are preferred). Please note that no electronic or general recycling will be accepted.
Additionally, the Johnson County Tox Box will also be open for residential use by appointment only, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To set up your appointment time, please visit the website JCRD. Org. The Tox Box is located at 1051 Hospital Road, Franklin.
The following items are accepted free of charge at the Tox Box:
- Yard and pool chemicals
- Automotive fluids
- Poisons
- Aerosol cans
- Adhesives
- Oil-based paint and stain
As a reminder: no latex paint, batteries, or light bulbs will be accepted. The Tox Box is open to Johnson County residents only; no businesses, contractors, or small-quantity generators will be accepted.
