The highly anticipated Torchfire Film Festival, proudly presented by Prolift Garage Doors, is set to light up the Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, Indiana on October 17, 2024, at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM). Film lovers and local supporters are invited to an unforgettable evening of award-winning films, guest speakers, and exciting prize giveaways—all for just $5 per person! Event Highlights:
- Award-Winning Indiana Feature-Length Film: Pears (1hr 12min) directed by Ryan McCurdy, Evansville, Indiana A soft-boiled detective takes on a case when his private investigator brother-in-law goes missing, thrown into an adventure filled with humor and heart.
- Award-Winning Indiana Short Film: Gunslinger (14min 50sec) directed by Lincoln Reed, Muncie, Indiana After being offered a chance to chase his baseball dreams, a high school benchwarmer faces a life-altering decision.
- Official Selection - Indiana Short Film: Physical Matters (7min 13sec) directed by Kurtis Aaron Bowersock, Indianapolis, Indiana Two married marine scientists confront both a blue whale and their troubled relationship, with the whale offering unexpected revelations.
This special showcase shines a light on local filmmakers who bring Indiana's creative spirit to life on the big screen.
The festival also features a robust selection of films that won’t be screened on October 17:
- Indiana Short Films - Official Selections: Rock Bottom by Jake Seitz, Sack Race With Knives: The Curious Art of Kevin Titzer by Jordan Barclay, Dark Side of the Moon by Lincoln Reed
- Winning Feature-Length and Short Films from Non-Indiana Filmmakers will be celebrated but not shown include Descendent by Artour Bajanov and Libra by Jonathan Everett.
