Roanoke, Ind. – With the holiday giving season in full swing, Indianapolis-based start-up technology company becauseOne recently launched a new platform transforming how people donate online. Developed by Reusser, a digital agency located in downtown Roanoke, Ind., the new patent-pending technology specialized in matching gifters with nonprofits.

Reusser took the concept–only written down on a piece of paper at the time–and brought it to life.
Senior developer Jake Smith said it was fulfilling to build a site that helps while also creating custom experiences like item-based giving and alignment technology.

When users join the platform, they are asked to select passions and interests to connect them with like-minded, vetted nonprofits. After users donate, they are encouraged to invite and share with others, creating a digital community of giving for the nonprofit.
“becauseOne solves a big problem for digital gifters. Research shows that people are more likely to donate if they see how the gift will directly benefit others,” said owner Stacia Jones. “If you want to buy a hat for a child during the holiday season, you can buy that hat and know it’s going directly to the nonprofit you selected. You can see your dollars go to work and know you are supporting a trusted nonprofit.”
becauseOne also enhances the experience through a tool called “Rooms.” Rooms are the space where the nonprofit posts and registers for their needs. These nonprofit Rooms can be sponsored by an individual, family, business, or corporation. Sponsors can make dedications and include personal messages. Ultimately, this is a way to support nonprofit organizations over the long term, providing a solution to the short-sidedness of other traditional ways of giving.
